ポツダム宣言の受諾に伴い発する命令に関する件の廃止に関する法律
Law for Abolition of the Imperial Ordinance concerning the Orders to be Issued in Consequence of the Acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration
１　ポツダム宣言の受諾に伴い発する命令に関する件（昭和二十年勅令第五百四十二号。以下「勅令第五百四十二号」という。）は、廃止する。
1　The Imperial Ordinance concerning the Orders to be Issued in Consequence of the Acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration (Imperial Ordinance No.542 of 1945;hereinafter referred to as "Imperial Ordinance No.542" ) shall be abolished.
２　勅令第五百四十二号に基く命令は、別に法律で廃止又は存続に関する措置がなされない場合においては、この法律施行の日から起算して百八十日間に限り、法律としての効力を有するものとする。
2　Orders or Ordinances issued under Imperial Ordinance No.542 shall, unless measures for their abolition or continued existence are taken by law separately, remain effective as laws for not more than one hundred and eighty (180) days commencing on the day of the enforcement of this Law.
３　この法律は、勅令第五百四十二号に基く命令により法律若しくは命令を廃止し、又はこれらの一部を改正した効果に影響を及ぼすものではない。
3　This Law shall not affect the effect of the abolition of or partial amendment to laws, orders or ordinances made in accordance with orders or ordinances under Imperial Ordinance No.542.
附　則
Supplementary Provisions:
１　この法律は、日本国との平和條約の最初の効力発生の日から施行する。
1　This Law shall come into force as from the day of the first coming into force of the Treaty of Peace with Japan.
２　この法律施行のための経過的規定その他この法律の施行に関し必要な事項は、政令で定める。
2　The transitional provisions for the enforcement of this Law and other matters necessary in connection with the enforcement of this Law shall be provided for by Cabinet Order.
