I hereby give My sanction to the Imperial Concerning the Partial Amendment to the Regulations governing Organization of the Tokyo Metropolis, etc. and cause the same to be promulgated.

第一條 東京都官制の一部を次のやうに改正する。
Article 1. A part of the Regulations governing the Organization of the Tokyo Metropolis shall be amended as follows:
第一條中「東京都ニ」の下に「都長官及區長ノ外」を加へ、「長官」を削る。
In Art. 1, nert to "Tokyo Metropolis shall", shall be added "in addition to the governor-general of the metropolis and the chief of a ward" and "the governor-general" shall be deleted.
第二十九條第一項を削る。
Art. 29, para.1 shall be deleted.
第二條 北海道廳官制の一部を次のやうに改正する。
Article 2. A part of the Regulations governing the Organization of the Hokkaido Regulations governing shall be amended as follows:
第一條中「北海道廳ニ」の下に「道廳長官ノ外」を加へ、「長官」を削る。
In Art. 1, next to "Hokkaido District shall", shall be added "in addition to the governor-general of the district" and "the gogernor-general" shall be deleted.
第三條 地方官官制の一部を次のやうに改正する。
Article 3. A part of the Regulations governing the Organization of the Local Officials shall be amended as follows:
第一條中「府縣ニハ」の下に「府縣知事ノ外」を加へ、「知事」を削る。
In Art. 1, next to "An Urban or Rural Prefecture shall", shall be added "in addition to the governor of an Urban or Rural Prefecture" and "the governor of an Urban or Rural Prefecture" and "the governor" shall be deleted.
第四條 親任官及諸官級別令の一部を次のやうに改正する。
Article 4. A part of the Ordinance concerning the classification of Ranks Classes of the shinnin and Other Officials shall be amended as follows:
親任官及諸官級別表地方行政事務局及都廳府縣の部中東京都長官祕書官の項の次に次のやうに加へる。
In the part of the local administrative office and the metropolis, district and Urban or Rural Prefectures of the annexed table concerning the classification of ranks and classes of the shinnin and other officials, next to the private of secretary to the governor-general of Tokyo Metropolis, shall be added the following:
Article 5. A part of Imperial Ordinance No. 778 of the Seventeenth Year of Showa (the Imperial Ordinance relating to the Shares in the Expenses for the Officials to be increased in accordance with the provisions of Art. 1-2 of the Ordinance concerning the Regulations governing the Organization of the Tokyo Metropolis) shall be amended as follows:
"Art. 1-2 of the Ordinance concerning the Regulations governing the Organization of the Tokyo Metropolis" shall read "The chief of a ward of Tokyo Metropolis and Art. 1-(2) of the Ordinance concerning the Regulations governing Organization of the Tokyo Metropolis"; and before "the Metropolitan Police Board", shall be added "Tokyo Metropolis".
The present Ordinance shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation provided, however, trat until fater the governor-general of the metropolis or the chief of a ward of the metropolis or the governor-general of a district or governor of an Urban or Rural Prefecture shall come into office for the first time in virtue of election as prescribed in the Law No. 26 of the twenty-first year of Showa (the Law concerning the Partial Amendment to the Regulations governing the Organizations of Tokyo Metropolis) or the Law No. 27 of the wenty-first year of Showa (the Law concerning the partial Amendment to the Regulations governing the Organization of Urban and Rural Prefectures), the former provisions shall, except in a case of the provisions of Para.2 of the Supplementary Provisions, still have effect, in a case of the concerned metropolis or ward or the concerned district or Urban or Rural Prefecture.
The full number of the lacal secretaries of the second class as prescribed in the provisions of Art. 1-2 of the Ordinance concerning the Regulations governing the Organization of the Tokyo Metropolis shall, in a case where the chiefs of wards have come into office for the first time in virtue of elections as prescribed in Law No. 26 of the twenty-first year of Showa, be reduced by as many as thirty-five in response to the coming into office of the latter.
