b. SCAP DIRECTIVE NUMBER 2, to the Japanese Imperial Government and the Japanese Imperial General Headquarters, 3 September 1945 SCAPIN- 2, Part II. Paragraphs 8 a. (2) and 8 a. (3); 10 a., 12 and 13. •
c. So much of the second sentence of paragraph 3, Memorandum for the Japanese Government, file AG 091.1 (4 Oct 47)GS, SCAPIN 1791, 4 October 1947, as reads "'Minesweeping and....." and so much of the first sentence of paragraph 5 as reads "Minesweeping."
3. The above rescissions and deletions transfer to the Japanese Government full responsibility for:
a. All mine sweeping activities in territorial Japanese waters.
b. Notification of mine conditions to mariners and world shipping through established media of dissemination.
4. The above rescissions and deletions are not intended to alter the supervision of mine clearance and operational control of Japanese mine sweepers, by the Commander, United States Naval Forces, Far East, in Japanese water areas used or required for vessels employed on Occupation missions.
