MEMORANDUM FOR

The JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

SUBJECT

Mine Sweeping Operations.

1. Paragraph 3 of memorandum from this headquarters, dated 3 September, on subject of mine sweeping operations in SASEBO and LII SUIDO area stated that a set of charts showing full information concerning swept channels in certain areas should be delivered to Commander Fifth Fleet or his representatives at a time and place to be designated by this headquarters.
2. It is desired that those charts for the SASEBO area be delivered the to representatives of Commander Fifth Fleet at a position thirty two degrees thirty minutes north latitude one two nine degrees twenty five minutes east longitude at 0800 hours Tokyo time on 10 September, 1945.
3. For approaches to KII SUIDO the charts should be delivered to representative of the Commander Fifth Fleet at a point 13 miles bearing 136 degrees true from KAMATA SAKI at 0800 hours Tokyo time on 12 September, 1945.
4. For the entry to SHIMBARA KAIWAN the charts should be delivered to representatives of Commander Fifth Fleet at a point 12 miles bearing 253 degrees true from KA▲TA SAKI at 0800 hours Tokyo time on 6 September, 1945.
5. In addition to the localities listed in memorandum referred to in paragraph 1, above, it is desired that the proper authorities be directed to son▲ pilot, with charts showing full information concerning swept channels into KOOKI on the island of SHIKOKU, to meet representatives of Commander Fifth Fleet at a point 10 miles bearing 162 degrees true from KOCHI light a 0800 hours Tokyo time on 8 September 1943.
6. In regard to paragraph 1b, of memorandum referred to in paragraph 1, above, you are informed that the mine sweeping group will arrive on 10 September and will use the anchorage to northward of KATSUSHIMA SUIDO, ▲▲▲▲▲Wan in GOTO RETTO will not be used.
