I hereby give My Sanction to the Imperial Ordinance concerning Payment Regulations of Allowances for Members of the Imperial Diet and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 436
Payment Regulations of Allowances for Members of the Imperial Diet.
Art. 1. Allowances prescribed in Law No. 20 of 1946, (hereinafter called simply as the Allowances) shall be paid from the month of their membership.
Art. 2. The Allowances shall be paid at the last decade of each month, but by request of any Member of the Diet (except those who come under Paragraph 3, of Law No. 20 of 1946,) they can be paid pursuant to the provisions of Paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Art. 2 of the Payment Regulations of Annual Allowance and Travelling Expences for Speakers, Vice Speakers and Members of the Imperial Diet.
Art. 3. The allowances shall not be paid to those who have not responded to the convocation during the year of Annual Allowance prescribed in Paragraph 1 of Art. 1 of the Payment Regulations of Annual Allowance and Travelling Expenses for Speakers, Vice Speakers and Members of the Imperial Diet.
Art. 4. When a member of the Diet who is a Government official retires from the post of Government official, the Allowances prescribed in Paragraph 1 of Law No. 20 of 1946 shall be paid to him from the month following his retirement.
When a member who received the Allowances in accordance with the provisions of Paragraph 3 of Law No. 20 of 1946, retires from the post of Government official the allowances of Paragraph 1 of the same Law shall be paid to him from the month following his retirement.
Art. 5. The allowances prescribed in Paragraph 3 of Law No. 20 of 1946 are as follows:
(1) Allowances which are assumed as salary in the provisions of Art. 20 of the Regulations of the Pension Law; (as to the Allowances provided per annum, one-twelfth of that amount.)
(2) Temporary allowance prescribed in the Imperial Ordinance No. 520 of 1941;
(3) Long Service Allowance prescribed in the Ordinance for Long Service Allowance';
(4) High-Price Allowance prescribed in the Ordinance for Temporary High-Price Allowance;
(5) Temporary Allowance prescribed in the Ordinance for Temporary Allowance.
Art. 6. Provisions of Art. 5-8 of the Regulations of Annual Allowance and Travelling Expenses for Speakers, Vice Speakers and Members of the Imperial Diet are applied mutatis mutandis to the Payment of the Allowances besides this regulation.
Supplementary Provision:
The present Ordinance shall be applied to the Allowances as from the month of April, 1946.
