I hereby give My Sanction to the Imperial Ordinance concerning Notary Public-Fee with regard to certification of statement of assets, etc. and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 398
Article 1. Fees charged by the notaries for the following matters shall be prescribed by this Ordinance: For certifying statements of assets according to the provisions of Article 8 of the Law regarding the Emergency Measures for Accounts of Financial Institutions, and Paragraph 2 or 5 of Article 8 of the Law regarding the Emergency Measures for Accounts of Companies. For giving certified copies of statements of assets and their accompanying documents according to the above-mentioned provisions. For giving permission to read statements of assets and their accompanying documents according to the above-mentioned provisions.
Article 2. Fees chaged for certifying statements of assets shall be 50 yen where one case does not exceed 30 sheets. An additional charge of 5 yen shall be made for every extra 10 sheets or any odd number of extra sheets.
One sheet shall consist of 24 lines, each line including 20 words; however, a sheet containing less than 24 lines shall be reckoned as one sheet.
Article 3. Fees for a certified copy of a statement of assets and its accompanying documents shall be 1 yen 30 sen per sheet; however, 90 sen shall be charged per sheet for signing a copy already filled in by the applicant.
The provisions of Paragraph 2 of the preceding article shall apply correspondingly to the reckoning of the number of sheets mentioned in the preceding paragraph.
Article 4. Fees for giving permission to read a statement of assets and its accompanying documents shall be 90 sen every time.
Article 5. The Notary Public Fee Regulations and the Imperial Ordinance No. 280, 1946 (The Imperial Ordinance concerning the Increase of Notary Public Fee and others) shall apply in regard to the fees mentioned in Article 1 of this Ordinance, unless provided otherwise than in the preceding three articles of this Ordinance.
Supplementary Provision:
The present Imperial Ordinance shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
