I hereby give my sanction to the Ordinance regarding the temporary establishment of a Special Financial Department of the Ministry of Finance and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 292
Ordinance regarding the temporary establishment of a Special Financial Department of the Ministry of Finance.
Article 1. A Special Financial Affair Department shall be established temporarily in the Ministry of Finance to administer the following affairs:
1. The affairs regarding the properties located in Japan owned by foreign countries or foreign nationals.
2. The affairs regarding the financial institutions and others closed in accordance with the instructions of the Supreme Commander for the Allied Power (except those under the jurisdiction of other ministries).
3. The affairs regarding the investigation to be made of properties located outside of Japan by demand of the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers.
4. The affairs regarding the accounting of the expenditures relative to the termination of war.
5. The affairs regarding the enforcement of the Special Property Custody Ordinance.
6. The affairs regarding the financial problems of reparations.
Article 2. The director of the Special Financial Affair Department of the Ministry of Finance shall be appointed temporarily from among the secretaries of the first rank.
The director will administer the affairs of the Department according to the instructions of the Minister of Finance.
Supplementary Provisions:
The present Ordinance shall come into force as from June 1, 1946.
A part of the organization Ordinance of the Ministry of Finance shall be revised as follows:
Item 15 of Article 6 shall be deleted.
