I hereby promulgate the Law concerning the Exceptions to the Telegraph and Telephone Charges Law in Consequence of the Operation of the Administrative Agreement under Article III of the Security Treaty between the United States of America and Japan.

Law concerning the Exceptions to the Telegraph and Telephone Charges Law in Consequence of the Operation of the Administrative Agreement under Article III of the Security Treaty between the United States of America and Japan
Article 1. The charges for the telegraph and telephone services furnished for the use of the armed forces of the United States of America to carry out the purpose of Article I of the Security Treaty between the United States of America and Japan shall, regardless of the provisions of the Telegraph and Telephone Charges Law (Law No.105 of 1948), be subject to the provisions of the Administrative Agreement under Article III of the Security Treaty between the United States of America and Japan.
Article 2. The provisions of the Law for Temporary Measures for the Charge of Cost of Telephone Installation (Law No.225 of 1951) shall not apply to the applications for telephone subscription or the extension equipments for the armed forces of the United States of America.
Supplementary Provisions:
1 This Law shall come into force as from the day of the coming into force of the Security Treaty between the United States of America and Japan.
2 The Telegraph and Telephone Charges Law shall be partially amended as follows:
The following shall be added next to "Item V. Charge for press subscribed call" in "CHAPTER I Charges for Call" of "Annexed Table 2 Charges for Telephone" :

In both "(1) In the case of long period lease" and "(2) In the case of short period lease" of "1. Leased toll line" , "Item II. Charges for, leased toll telephone" , "CHAPTER 4 Charges for leased Telephone" , "Annexed Table 2 Charges for telephone" , "Lease for government agencies, etc.(limited to those used for services of police, fire, criminal process and Japanese National Railways)" shall be amended as "Lease for government agencies, etc.(limited to those used for the National Rural Police or the municipal police under the Police Law (Law No.196 of 1947) or for the fire defence agency of the State or municipality prescribed in the Fire Defence Organization Law (Law No.226 of 1947)" .
