Law for Partial Amendments to the Economic Stabilization Board Establishment Law, Etc.
(Partial Amendment to the Economic Stabilization Board Establishment Law)
Article 1. The Economic Stabilization Board Establishment Law (Law No.164 of 1949) shall be partially amended as follows:
In the Contents, in Chapter II, "Section 1. Internal Subdivisions (Articles 6-14)" shall be amended as "Section 1. Internal Subdivisions (Articles 6-14-(21))" , in Chapter III, "Section 1. Price Agency (Articles 20-32)" shall be amended as "Section 1. Deleted" and "Part 1. General Provisions (Articles 20-21)" , "Part 2. Internal Subdvisions (Articles 22-27)" , "Part 3. Deleted." and "Part 4. Auxiliary Organs (Article 32)" shall be deleted.
In Article 5 item (32), "the Price Agency," shall be deleted.
In Article 6 paragraph 1,
"five bureaus" shall be amended as "six bureaus" and
"Construction and Transportation Bureau." shall be amended as
"Construction and Transportation Bureau;
".
In Article 7 paragraph 3, "and the Construction and Transportation Bureau two Deputy Directors" shall be amended as "the Construction and Transportation Bureau two Deputy Directors and the Price Bureau three Deputy Directors" .
In Chapter II Section 1, the following one Article shall be added next to Article 14:
(Functions of Price Bureau)
Article 14-(2). The Price Bureau shall take charge of the following affairs:
(1) Establishment of fundamental policies and plans concerning commodity prices;
(2) Controlling of prices, etc.;
(3) Affairs concerning the state subsidy granted for the purpose of stabilizing commodity prices;
(4) Coordination and propulsion of the affairs of the administrative organs concerned in relation to commodity prices;
(5) Research and statistics of commodity prices and the cost of living;
(6) Unification of cost accounting formulas.

In Chapter III, Section 1 shall be amended as follows:

In Article 34-(3) paragraph 1, ", the Price Agency" shall be deleted, and in paragraph 2 of the same Article, "item (1) of the preceding paragraph" shall be amended as "items (1) and (2) of the preceding paragraph" , and "under the direction of the Director of the Price Agency concerning the affairs enumerated in item (2) of the same paragraph," shall be deleted.
In Article 34-(5) paragraph 1, "four Divisions" shall be amended as "three Divisions" and"

(Partial Amendment to the National Government Organization Law)
Article 2. The National Government Organization Law (Law No.120 of 1948) shall be partially amended as follows:

(Partial Amendment to the Price Control Ordinance)
Article 3. The Price Control Ordinance (Imperial Ordinance No.118 of 1946) shall be partially amended as follows:
"Director of the Price Agency" shall be amended as "Director-General of the Economic Stabilization Board" .
(Partial Amendment to the Land and House Rent Control Ordinance)
Article 4. The Land and House Rent Control Ordinance (Imperial Ordinance No.443 of 1946) shall be partially amended as follows:
"Director of the Price Agency" shall be amended as "Director-General of the Economic Stabilization Board" .
Supplementary Provisions:
1 This Law shall come into force as from April 1, 1952.
2 Those who are actually the personnel of the Price Agency at the time of enforcement of this Law shall become the personnel of the Price Bureau of the Economic Stabilization Board unless an official order is issued to them otherwise.
