Law for Partial Amendment to the Postal Savings Law
The Postal Savings Law (Law No.144 of 1947) shall be partially amended as follows:
In Article 10 paragraph 1, "thirty thousand yen" shall be amended as "one hundred thousand yen" .
Article 12 paragraph 1 shall be amended as follows:
The postal savings shall be allowed the interest at the following rates:
1. The ordinary postal deposit 3.96% per annum
2. The collection postal deposit 4.20% per annum
3. The postal savings certificate
When the period from the first day of the month of deposit to the day of payment of the amount of withdrawal (in case the warrant of withdrawal is issued, to the day of issue thereof) is more than two years 6.00% per annum
When the said period is more than one year and six months, but not more than two years 5.40% per annum
When the said period is more than one year, but not more than one year and six months 4.80% per annum
When the said period is one year or less 4.20% per annum
Next to Article 12 paragraph 1, the following one paragraph shall be added:
In case the payment of deposit is made under the provision of the proviso to Article 45 paragraph 1 or the proviso to Article 52 paragraph 1 with regard to the collection postal deposit or the postal savings certificate, regardless of the provision of the preceding paragraph, the interest at the rate of 3.00% per annum shall be allowed.
In Article 47 paragraph 1, "from one hundred yen to one thousand two hundred yen (with regard to the collection deposit which was made on and before May 31, 1949, from twenty yen to five hundred yen)" shall be amended as "from one hundred yen to four thousand yen" , and "fraction of one hundred yen (with regard to the collection deposit which was made on and before May 31, 1949, fraction of ten yen)" as "fraction of one hundred yen" .
In Article 54, "one thousand yen or three thousand yen" shall be amended as "one thousand yen, three thousand yen, five thousand yen or ten thousand yen" .
Paragraphs 3 and 4 of the Supplementary Provisions shall be deleted.
Supplementary Provisions:
1 This Law shall come into force as from April 1, 1952.
2 The Law for Partial Amendment to the Postal Savings Law (Law No.129 of 1951) shall be amended as follows:
Paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 of the Supplementary Provisions shall be deleted, paragraph 5 shall be made paragraph 2, and paragraph 6 shall be made paragraph 3.
3 The postal savings which have been made to follow the precedents in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 3 of the Supplementary Provisions of the Postal Savings Law or paragraph 2 or 3 of the Supplementary Provisions of the Law mentioned in the preceding paragraph, and which exist actually at the time of the enforcement of this Law, shall be deemed to have become the ordinary postal deposit at the time of the enforcement of this Law.
