Law for Partial Amendments to the Law concerning Compensation for National Public Service Personnel in the Special Government Service
The Law concerning Compensation for National Public Service Personnel in the Special Government Service (Law No.252 of 1949) shall be partially amended as follows:
Article 1 item (14) shall be amended as follows:
(14) Chairman and Commissioners of the National Offenders Prevention and Rehabilitation Commission;
Item (25) of the same Article shall be deleted;and item (26) of the same Article shall be made item (25) of the same Article.
Article 3 shall be amended as follows:
Article 3. The monthly amount of salary of the Prime Minister and others shall be provided for in Appendix No.1 with respect to other persons than ambassadors, ministers and confidential secretaries among the Prime Minister and others, in Appendix No.2 with respect to ambassadors and ministers, and in Appendix No.3 with respect to confidential secretaries.
2 The steps of the monthly amounts of salaries to be obtained by ambassadors and ministers in accordance with Appendix No.2 shall be determined by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, upon consultation with the Minister of Finance.
3 The steps of the monthly amounts of salaries to be obtained by confidential secretaries in accordance with Appendix No.3 shall be determined by the Prime Minister, the Attorney-General, the Minister of each Ministry, the President of the Economic Stabilization Board, the President of the Supreme Court, the President of the National Personnel Authority or the President of the Board of Audit, upon consultation with the Minister of Finance.
In Article 9, "1,850 yen" shall be amended as "2,200 yen" .
Article 12 shall be amended as follows:
Article 12. Deleted.
In the main clause of Article 13, "item (26)" shall be amended as "item (25)" , and the proviso to the same Article shall be amended as follows:
;provided that the application thereto of the provision of Article 11 of the abolished Law concerning the Protection of the Government against Unjust Claims and Others (Law No.171 of 1947) which remains still in force in accordance with the provisions of the Law for Abolition of the Law concerning the Protection of the Government against Unjust Claims and Others (Law No.190 of 1950) shall not be precluded.

Supplementary Provisions:
1 This Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation and apply as from October 1, 1951.
2 The steps of the monthly amounts of salaries obtained by confidential secretaries as of a day during the period from October 1, 1951 to the date of the enforcement of this Law shall be the steps of the monthly amounts of their salaries which are given in Appendix No.3 of the Law concerning Compensation for National Public Service Personnel in the Special Government Service, after amendments by this Law (hereinafter referred to as "the Law after amendments" ) corresponding to the steps of the monthly amounts of salaries provided for in the Annexed Table of the Law concerning Compensation for National Public Service Personnel in the Special Government Service before amendments by this Law (hereinafter referred to as "the Law before amendments" ) which were paid them on the day during the said period under the application of the Law before amendments.
3 The steps of the monthly amounts of salaries which are obtained by confidential secretaries during the period stated in the preceding paragraph and which are determined upon consultation in accordance with the provision of Article 3 paragraph 2 of the Law before amendments shall be considered to have been determined upon consultation in accordance with the provision of Article 3 paragraph 3 of the Law after amendments.
4 The compensations for the period stated in paragraph 2 of the Supplementary Provisions which were paid to national public personnel prior to the enforcement of this Law in accordance with the provisions of the Law before amendments shall be considered to be the part payments of compensations to be paid under the provisions of the Law after amendments.
