Law for Partial Amendments to the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law
The Pharmaceutical Affairs Law (Law No.197 of 1948) shall be partially amended as follows:
Next to Article 32, the following two paragraphs shall be added:
3 The Minister of Welfare may, when it is necessary for the prevention of hazards to the public health and sanitation, fix the minimum standards of quality relating to devices or cosmetics on the basis of the recommendation of the National Committee of Pharmacy.
4 The devices or cosmetics, for which the minimum standards of quality have been fixed in accordance with the provision of the preceding paragraph, shall not be sold or otherwise distributed, or manufactured, imported, stored or exhibited for the purpose of sale or other distribution, unless they meet these standards.
In Article 33, "The drugs designated by the Minister of Welfare" , shall be amended as "The drugs designated by the Minister of Welfare, and the devices or cosmetics for which the minimum standards of quality have been fixed in accordance with the provision of paragraph 3 of the preceding Article and which have been designated by the Minister of Welfare" .
In Article 49, "a manufacturer, or an importer of drugs, devices, or cosmetics, or a seller of drugs" shall be amended as "a manufacturer, an importer or a seller of drugs, devices or cosmetics" , and "free of charge" shall be deleted.
Supplementary Provision:
This Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
