I hereby promulgate the Law concerning the Payment of the Temporary Year-end Allowance to the National Public Service Personnel.

Law concerning the Payment of the Temporary Year-end Allowance to the National Public Service Personnel
(Payment of the Temporary Year end Allowance)
Article 1. The national public service personnel of the regular government service (excluding the procurator general, the assistant procurator general and superintending procurators) and those of the special government service enumerated below as prescribed in Article 2 of the National Public Service Law (Law No.120 of 1947), who actually are in the service on full-time basis at the time of enforcement of this Law, shall be paid the temporary year-end allowance only in the fiscal year 1949-50:
(1) Judges (exclusive of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, judges of the Supreme Court and presidents of the high courts);
(3) Confidential secretaries as mentioned in items (8) and (12) of paragraph 3 of Article 2 of the National Public Service Law;
(4) Personnel employed by the Foodstuff Distribution Kodan;
(5) Workers in service of the Allied Forces to meet the demands of the Allied Forces.
(Amount of the Temporary Year-end Allowance)
Article 2. The amount of the temporary year-end allowance payable to the personnel shall be the amount that is obtained by multiplying a sum equivalent to one-third of the monthly amount of their compensation plus 700 yen by the following rates corresponding to the length of service;provided, however, that the amount shall not exceed 5,000 yen:
(1) In cases the length of service is more than six months......... 100 per cent;
(2) In case the length of service is more than three months and less than six months......... 60 per cent;
(3) In case the length of service is less than three months......... 30 per cent.
2 The monthly amount of compensation provided for in the preceding paragraph shall, in the case of the personnel to whom the Law Administering the New Pay of Government Officials (Law No.46 of 1948;excluding Articles 29 and 34) applies, be the total of the monthly amounts of the base pay, family allowance and area allowance as prescribed by the said Law, and in the case of the other personnel falling under the preceding Article, be determined by the Prime Minister.
(Regulations for Payment)
Article 3. Other than those provided for in paragraph 2 of the preceding Article, regulations concerning the computation of length of service and other necessary matters relating payment of the temporary year-end allowance shall be provided for by the Prime Minister.
Supplementary Provision:
This Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
