Law for Partial Amendments to the Board of Education Law
The Board of Education Law (Law No.170 of 1948) shall be partially amended as follows:
Article 70 shall read as follows:
Article 70. The Boards of Education of cities, towns and villages except Osaka City, Kyoto City, Nagoya City, Kobe City and Yokohama City (hereinafter referred to as "the Five Big Cities" ) shall be established by November 1, 1952. However, they shall be established neither in 1949 nor in 1951.
2 The necessary matters concerning the establishment of Boards of Education of the preceding paragraph may be provided for by Cabinet Order.
Article 86 shall read as follows:
Article 86. In spite of the provisions of Item 2 of Article 50, the authorization of textbooks shall be made by the Minister of Education, until the paper-allocating system is abolished.
Supplementary Provision:
This Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
