Law for Allowances to Special Non-Repatriates
Article 1. The "Special Non-Repatriate" as mentioned in this Law signifies one who was not in the service of the defunct Army or Navy and who has not returned to Japan as yet, residing overseas since September 2, 1945 consecutively and who is under the same circumstances as the undemobilized person within the dominions of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
Article 2. The Provisions of the Law concerning Undemobilized Persons'Compensation (Law No.182 of 1947) shall apply mutatis mutandis to the Special Non-Repatriates. However, as to the Non-Repatriates, expenses necessary for receiving their ashes, in case of their death, shall not be granted, nor their wages and supporting allowances for the perford prior to December 31, 1948.
Article 3. The provisions of the preceding Article shall not apply to public service personnel of the State or Local Public Entities, who are being paid for.
Article 4. All expenses necessary for the enforcement of the present Law shall be defrayed out of the National Treasury.
Supplementary Provisions:
The present Law shall come into force as from January 1, 1949.
