Law for Partial Amendment of the Law for Termination of the Zaibatsu Family Control
The Law for Termination of the Zaibatsu Family Control (Law No.2, 1948) shall partially be amended as follows:
In Article 6, Paragraph 2 shall be deleted and in Paragraph 3 of the same Article, "Paragraph 1 above" shall read "the preceding paragraph."
In Article 7, Paragraph 2 shall be deleted and in Paragraph 3 of the same Article, "Paragraph 1 above" shall read "the preceding paragraph."
Article 8, Paragraph 5, shall be deleted.
In Article 9, Paragraph 2, "in accordance with the findings of the Appointees Examination Committee" shall be deleted.
In Article 10, Paragraph 2 shall be deleted and in Paragraph 3 of the same Article, "Paragraph 1 above" shall read "the preceding paragraph" and "Article 6, Paragraph 3" shall read "Article 6, Paragraph 2."
"Chapter IV. Appointees Examination Committee" shall read "Chapter IV. Examination."
Article 11.　Deleted. Article 12. Deleted. Article 13. Deleted.
In Article 14, "at the request of the Examination Committee may cause persons concerned to present materials or to give explanation of facts to the Examination Committee" shall read "may cause persons concerned to present materials or to give explanation of facts."
Article 15.　Deleted.
In Article 16, "Upon acceptance of the report provided for in the preceding Article from the Examination Committee, the Prime Minister shall, within one week (in the case of applications prescribed in Article 8, Paragraph 1, within two days)" shall read "Upon acceptance of applications provided for in Article 6, Paragraph 1, Article 7, Paragraph 1, Article 8, Paragraphs 1 to 4 inclusive, Article 9, Paragraph 3, or Article 10, Paragraph 1, the Prime Minister shall conduct examinations without delay and."

In Article 28, "Upon acceptance of the report on the result of the re-examination as prescribed in the preceding Article, the Prime Minister shall, within one week from the day of acceptance of the report, give" shall read "Upon acceptance of an application for re-examination provided for in Article 23, the Prime Minister shall conduct the necessary re-examination and give without delay."
Article 29.　Deleted.
In Article 30, "The provisions of Article 14, Article 17, Paragraph 2, Article 18, Article 19, Paragraphs 2 and 3, Articles 20 to 22 inclusive shall apply correspondingly to the Re-Examination Committee" shall read "The provisions of Article 14 shall apply to the re-examination conducted by the Prime Minister as provided for in Article 28."
In Article 31, Paragraph 1, Item 5, "Article 14," shall read "Article 14 (including the case made applicable in the preceding Article)."
Supplementary Provisions:
1.　The present Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
2.　In regard to the application of Penalty Provisions to any contravention of the Law for Termination of the Zaibatsu Family Control (Law No.2, 1948) prior to this amendment, precedents shall continue to be followed.
