I hereby give My sanction to the Imperial Ordinance relating to the partial amendments to the Midwife Regulations,and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 188
The Midwife Regulations shall be partly amended as follows:
"Samba regulations" shall read "Josampu Regulations"
"Samba," "Samba list," and "Samba examination" shall read, "Josampu," "Josampu list," and "Josampu examination" respectively."
" Art. 1 " shall be " Art. 1–(2)."
Art. 1. The Ordinance concerning midwife under Art. 27 of the National Medical Treatment Act shall be decided by this Ordinance.
In Art. 15–(2),"Hokkaido local expenses and prefectures (Fu-ken) except in Saghalien" shall read " Metropolis, urban and local prefectures (To-do-fuken)."
Art. 17–(2) shall be deleted.
Art. 18 and Art. 20 shall be deleted.
Supplementary Provisions:
The present Ordinance shall come into force as from May 2, 1947.
A person, who has been registered on a "Samba" list or has passed "Samba" examination, according to the former "Samba" Regulations, shall be respectively regarded as a person who has been registered on a "Josampu" list or has passed "Josampu" examination, according to the "Josampu" regulations.
