I hereby give My sanction to the Imperial Ordinance concerning the partial amendments of the organization of Imperial Universities, etc., and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 139
Art. 1. A part of the Imperial University Organization shall be amended as follows:
In Table 1, the paragraph of Kyoto Imperial University: "219" shall read "223" in the column of the professors who are Education Ministry instructors, "189" shall read "193" in the column of the assistant professors who are E.M. instructors, "318" shall read "326" in the column of the 3rd class E.M. instructors, "60" shall read "62" in the column of the 3rd class E.M. secretaries, and "12" shall read "15" in the column of the 3rd class E.M. technicians. In the paragraph of Tohoku Imperial University, the same Table: "143" shall read "150" in the column of the professors who are E.M. instructors, "123" shall read "130" in the column of the assistant professors who are E.M. instructors, "200" shall read "214" in the column of the 3rd class E.M. instructors, "8" shall read "9" in the column of the 2nd class E.M. secretaries, and "34" shall read "36" in the column of the 3rd class E.M. secretaries. In the paragraph of Hokkaido Imperial Universiy, the same Table: "123" shall read "143" in the column of the professors who are E.M. instructors, "118" shall read "138" in the column of the assistant professors who are E.M. instructors, "232" shall read "252" in the column of the 3rd class E.M. instructors, "7" shall read "8" in the 2nd class E.M. secretaries, and "48" shall read "51" in the column of the 3rd class E.M. secretaries.
Art. 2. A part of the Imperial Ordinance No. 13, 1919, shall be amended as follows:
"Faculty of Agriculture" shall be added next to "Law and Literature Faculty" in the faculties of Tohoku Imperial University and "Law and Literature Faculty" shall be added next to "Science Faculty" in the faculties of Hokkaido Imperial University.
Art. 3. A part of the Chair Ordinance of Kyoto Imperial University shall be amended as follows:
"4 chairs on live-stock breeding" in the faculty column of the Faculty of Agriculture.
Art. 4. A part of the Chair Ordinance of Tohoku Imperial University shall be amended as follows:
"4 chairs on agricultural products,
2 chairs on live-stock breeding, and
1 chair on fishery in the Agricultural Faculty"
shall be added next to "2 chairs on Western Literature" in the faculty column of the Law and Literature Faculty.
Art. 5. A part of the Chair Ordinance of Hokkaido Imperial University shall be amended as follows:
5 chairs on jurisprudence,
2 chairs on economics, in the Law and Literature Faculty"
shall be added next to "2. chairs on zoology" in the faculty column of the Science Faculty.
Supplementary Provision:
The present Ordinance shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
