I hereby promulgate the Law concerning the Partial Amendment to be made to the Fisheries Law.

A part of the Fisheries Law shall be amended as follows:
"Administrative office" shall read "administrative authorities" and "Imperial Ordinance" shall read "Cabinet Order."
In Art.24, Par.1, "the laying of submarine cables or for the national defense or for any other military purpose" shall read "or of the laying of submarine cables."
In Art.34, Par.1, "a local governor" shall read "prefectural governor" , "issue prefectural order" shall read "enact regulations" ;in Par.3 of the same Article, "the preceding two paragraphs" shall read "Par.2." Next to Par.2 of the same Article, the following two paragraphs shall be added:
Necessary penal provisions may be provided for in the Ordinance issued pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph.
The penalty which can be provided for in the penal provisions of the preceding paragraph shall be an imprisonment with hard labor or imprisonment not exceeding three months or a fine not exceeding one thousand yen or a minor fine.
In Art.41, Par.1, "officers on board a naval vessel," shall be deleted.
Article 58-(2). Any person who has violated the provisions of Art.34, Par.1, shall be subject to a fine not exceeding five hundred yen, detention or to a minor fine.
In the cases of the preceding paragraph, the fish catches, products and fishing gears owned or possessed by the offender, and the marine animals and plants prescribed in Art.34, Par.1, Item 1, may be confiscated;however, in case the confiscation of such articles mentioned above owned by the offender is impracticable, in whole or in part, the value thereof may be taken as forfeit.
Supplementary Provision:
The present Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
