I hereby promulgate the Law concerning the Adjustments of Laws and Ordinances relative to the Abolition of the Regulations governing the Organization of the Ministry for Home Affairs and Others.

Article 1.　In the following laws and ordinances "the Minister for Home Affairs" shall read "competent Minister" :
Land Expropriation Law;
Canal Law;
Water-Works Regulation;
Sewerage Law;
Irrigation Association Law;
Nationality Law;
Law No.21, 1898 (Making Aliens Adopted Children or Incoming Husbands);
Law for Preservation of Historic Remains, Scenic Areas and Natural Relics;
Imperial Ordinance No.101, 1946 (Prohibiting Organization of Certain Political Parties, Associations and Other Organizations);
Imperial Ordinace Prohibiting Possession of Firearms, etc;
Imperial Ordinances for the Registration of Aliens;
Ministry for Home Affairs Ordinance No.25, 1946 (matters concerning Impounding of Looted Property and Reporting thereof);
Ministry for Home Affairs Ordinance No.30, 1946 (Investigation concerning the Officers who were in the Regular Army or Navy or in the Special Volunteer Reserve);
Ministry for Home Affairs Ordinance No.31, 1946 (Investigation concerning Foreign Cinemas).
Article 2.　The Administrative Offices Law shall be partly amended as follows:
In Article 13, "the President of the Reconstruction Board" shall read "the head of the Construction Board."
Article 3.　Matters concerning the disposition of articles, and others returned to the government from the Supreme Commander shall be handled for the time being by the General Affairs Bureau of the Construction Board under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister.
Article 4.　Matters concerning the investigation, custody and disposition of looted properties in accordance with the demand of the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers shall be handled for the time being by the Liaison Office under the jurisdiction of the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Supplementary Provision:
The present Law shall come into force as from January 1, 1948.
