I hereby promulgate the Law concerning the House-Registration (Koseki) of the Person who has lost or acquired the Membership of the Imperial Family.

Article 1.　A new House-Register (Koseki) shall be prepared for any person who has lost the membership of the Imperial Family in accordance with the provisions of Art.11 of the Imperial House Law.
Any person who has lost the membership of the Imperial Family together with the person mentioned in the foregoing paragraph in accordance with the provisions of Art.13 of the Imperial House Law shall be entered in the House-Register (Koseki) of the said person.
Article 2.　A female person who has lost the membership of the Imperial Family in accordance with the provisions of Art.14 Pars.1 to 3 inclusive of the Imperial House Law shall be entered in the House-Register (Koseki) wherein she had been registered before marriage.
A female person who has lost the membership of the Imperial Family in accordance with the provisions of Art.14 Par.4 of the Imperial House Law shall be entered in the House-Register (Koseki) prepared for her lineal ascendant pursuant to the provisions of Art.1, Par.1.
If in the case mentioned in the two foregoing paragraphs the House-Register (Koseki) to be entered in has been detached from the Registration Book, a new House-Register (Koseki) shall be prepared.
Article 3.　In case a female person who has lost the membership of the Imperial Family in accordance with the provisions of Art.12 of the Imperial House Law has divorced, a new House-Register (Koseki) shall be made up for her. But if there exists a House-Register (Koseki) made up for her lineal ascendant in accordance with the provisions of Art.1, Par.1, she shall be entered in such House-Register (Koseki).
Article 4.　In case a female person who was not a member of the Imperial Family has become the Empress or got married to a male member of the Imperial Family, she shall be removed from the House-Register (Koseki) wherein she has been registered heretofore.
Article 5.　Any person for whom a new House-Register (Koseki) is made up in accordance with the provisions of Art.1, Par.1 or Art.2, Par.3 shall, within ten days, notify the following matters with documents by which the cause for the loss of the membership of the Imperial Family is proved:
1.　The locality of the House (Honseki);
2.　If there is any person to be entered in the House-Register (Koseki) of the notification-giver, the full name and the date of birth of such person as well as his or her connection in point of personal relationship with the notification-giver;
3.　The full name of the father and mother of the notification-giver and the person to be entered in the House-Register (Koseki) of the notification-giver and the connection in point of personal relation between such parties and their fathers and mothers;
4.　The cause for and the date of the loss of the membership of the Imperial Family.
Article 6.　A female person who is to be entered in a House-Register in accordance with the provisions of Art.2, Par.1 or 2 shall, within ten days, notify the following matters, with documents by which the cause for the entry is proved:
1.　The House-Register (Koseki) to be entered in;
2.　The full name of such person's father and mother and the connection in point of personal relation between such person and his or her father and mother;
3.　The cause for and the date of the entry should be entered.
Article 7.　A relative up to the fourth degree of relationship of a female person to be removed in accordance with the provisions of Art.4, from the House-Register (Koseki) wherein she has been registered, shall, within ten days, notify the following matters, with documents by which the cause for the removal is proved:
1.　The full name, the date of birth, and the locality of the house of the person to be removed;
2.　The cause for and the date of the removal.
Supplementary Provision:
The present Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
