I hereby give My Sanction to the Imperial Ordinance concerning the Establishment of the Investigation Bureau in the Ministry of Education and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 589
第一條 文部省に臨時に調査局を置く。
Article 1. The Investigation Bureau shall be temporarily established in the Ministry of Education.
第二條 調査局は、左の事務を掌る。
Article 2. The Investigation Bureau shall manage the following matters:
一 敎育刷新に關する事務の連絡調査に關する事項
1. Matters concerning liaison and adjustment of business concerning educational reform.
二 內外における敎育制度及び敎育事情の調査硏究に關する事項
2. Matters concerning investigation and research in educational system and conditions of education both at home and abroad.
三 統計一般に關する事項
3. Matters concerning statistics in general.
附 則
Supplementary Provision:
この勅令は、公布の日から、これを施行する。
The present Ordinance shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
