I hereby give My Sanction to the Imperial Ordinance concerning the partial amendments of the Ordinance regarding Reports on Quantities of Precious Metals, etc. under the Imperial Ordinance No. 542 of twentieth year of Showa (1945) concerning the Orders to be issued in accordance with the acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 516
A part of the Ordinance on Reports of Quantities, etc. of Precious Metals shall be amended as follows:
In Article 2, next to "hereafter called Precious Metals" shall be added "excluding platinum bullion or alloys".
Article 3. Any person who was the owner (custodian or possessor in cases prescribed by the Minister of Finance) of the bullions or alloys of Platinum, etc. (excluding those which have been already reported under preceding two Articles before 00.00 o'clock October 1st, 1946), within this country at 00.00 o'clock October 1st, 1946, shall report to the Minister of Finance the quantities and other matters thereof in accordance with what the Minister of Finance may prescribe, on or before November 20th, 1946.
The provisions of Article 1, paragraph 2, shall be correspondingly applied to the cases prescribed in the preceding paragraph.
In Article 3, "Article 1 or the preceding Article" shall read "from Article 1 to the preceding Article" "(excluding the Platinum bullion and alloys)" shall be deleted. Article 3 shall read Article 4.
In case of neglect or falsehood of reports under Article 2 or 3, the precious metals or platinum, ect. in these violations shall be confiscated. In Article 4 "the preceding Article" shall read "Article 4" and Article 4 shall read Article 6.
Supplementary Provision:
The present Ordinance shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
