I hereby give My Sanction to the Imperial Ordinance regarding the enforcement date, etc. of the War Indemnity Special Measures Law, and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 496
The War Indemnity Special Measures Law shall come into force as from October 30, 1946.
Areas which are to be excluded from the enforcement area of the War Indemnity Special Measures Law by virtue of Par. 2 of the Additional Provisions of said Law shall be as follows:
1.　Under the jurisdiction of Nemuro Branch Office, Hokkaido: Shumushu-gun, Shinshiru-gun, Uruppu-gun, Kunashiri-gun, Shana-gun, Etraw-gun, Shibetoro-gun, Shikotan-gun and Suisho-jima, Yuru-shima, Shiba-shima, Tara-shima and Akiyuru-shima of Habomai-mura in Hanasaki-gun.
2.　Bonin Islands of Tokyo-to.
3.　Under the jurisdiction of Oki Branch Office, Shimane prefecture; Take-shima of Goka-mura.
4.　Oshima-gun of Kagoshima prefecture (excluding Nakakuro-shima, Take-shima and Iowa-shima of Toshima-mura).
5.　Okinawa prefecture.
