I hereby give My Sanction to the Imperial Ordinance concerning the Exemption of Staple Foods from Import Duties in accordance with the provisions of Article 12 of the Food Control Law, and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 445
Of the commodities as mentioned in the Import Tariff annexed to the Customs Tariff Law, those mentioned in the Annexed Table to the present Imperial Ordinance shall, in so far as they are preserved in cans, bottles or pots, be exempted from import duties for importation not later than December 31, 1946.
Supplementary Provision:
The present Imperial Ordinance shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
