I hereby give My Sanction to the Imperial Ordinance concerning the partial amendments of the Imperial Ordinance for Government Officials Salaries and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 435
Art. 1 (A). Following amendments are made to the Ordinance for Government Officials Salaries;
Art. 1. Salaries for Government Officials appointed by the Emperor with the ceremony of installation are as follows:
Prime Minister 3,000 yen per month
Minister of Each Ministry
2,500 yen per month
President of the Privy Council
Ambassador Plenipotenciary
President of the Supreme Count
President of the Board of Audit
President of Administrative Court
Governor of Tokyo Metropolis
2,200 yen per month
President of Reconstruction Board
Vice-President of the Privy Council
2,100 yen per month
Privy Councillor 2,000 yen per month
Art. 1 (B). Salaries for Government Official are provided in attached table except those appointed by the Emperor with the ceremony of installation.

Art. 2. Following Amendments are made to the Ordinance for Local Treated Officials:
In Item 4 of Art. 2, "85 yen" shall read "460 yen".
Art. 9. Ordinance for Government Officials Salaries is applied mutatis mutandis to the salaries of treated officials.
Annexed table shall be rescinded.
Art. 3. Following Amendments are made to the Ordinance regarding the Officials of Prefectural Institute for Juveniles:
In Item 2 of Art. 7, "70 yen," shall read "420 yen."
Art. 12. Ordinance for Government Officials Salaries is applied mutatis mutandis to the salaries of officials of this Institute.
Art. 13. Ordinance for Limitation of Government Officials is applied mutatis mutandis to the limitation of the officials of this Institute.
Art. 14 to 16 inclusive shall be rescinded.
Attached table shall be rescinded.
Art. 4. Following amendment is made to the Imperial Ordinance No. 569 of 1920 (Ordinance regarding judicial officers on probation and judicial officers on probation attached to Government-General of Korea):
In Art. 2, "Annual salary within 1,100 yen" shall read" monthly salary within 580 yen".
Art. 5. Following amendment is made to the Imperial Ordinance No. 275 of 1910 (Ordinance regarding probationer for government officers and officials.):
In Art. 4, "within 1,100 yen per annum, for probationer within 40 yen per month" shall read "within 580 yen, for probationer within 300 yen per month."
Art. 6. Following amendment is made to the Ordinance for Public School Organization:
Paragraph 3 of Supplementary Provision shall be rescinded.
Art. 7. Following amendments are made to the Ordinance regarding Special Allowance for Public School Officials:
Art. 1 to 3 inclusive, shall be rescinded, and Art. 4 shall become Art. 1.
Art. 5 and 6 shall be recsinded, and Art. 7 shall become Art. 2, and Art. 8 shall become Art. 3.
Attached table shall be rescinded.
Art. 8. Following amendments are made to the Ordinance regarding Pay for Policemen:
Art. 2 to 5 inclusive shall be rescinded, and Art. 6 shall become Art. 2 and number of each Article thereinafter shall be lessened by 4 respectively.
Art. 9. Following amendments are made to the Ordinance regarding Pay for Jailers:
Art. 2 to 5 inclusive shall be rescinded, and Art. 6 shall become Art. 2 and number of each Article thereinafter shall be lessened by 4 respectively.
Art. 10. Following amendments is made to the Imperial Ordinance No. 868 of 1940 (Ordinance regarding Salary and Pay for Assistant-chief Jailers):
"Art. 4 and Art. 6 to 9 inclusive" shall read "Art. 5."
Art. 11. Following amendments are made to the Imperial Ordinance No. 405 of 1920 (Ordinance regarding Special Allowance for Officials and Employees who are serving at offices of secluded places.):
In Paragraph 1, "other places" shall read "other places where special difficulties exist in the living condition of officials," and "within 45 yen per month" and proviso in the same paragraph shall be rescinded. In Paragraph 2, "other places shall read" other places "where special difficulties exist in the living condition of officials."
Art. 12. Following amendments are made to the Imperial Ordinance No. 483 of 1940 (Ordinance regarding Pay for Specially Designated PostMaster.):
Art. 2 and attached table shall be rescinded.
In Paragraph 1 of Article 1, "annual allowance within the amount prescribed in attached table" shall read "allowance within 1,000 yen per month." In Paragraph 2 of the same article next to "the Governor of the South Sea" shall be added "by consulting with Minister or Finance" and in the same article "Article 1" shall be rescinded.
Supplementary Provisions:
The present Ordinance shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
Provisions of Art. 1 to 5 inclusive and Art. 11 shall be applied to the Pay from July 1, 1946 and provisions of Art. 6 to 10 inclusive, Art. 12 and Paragraph 7 of Supplementary Provision shall be applied from October 1.
As to the new grade of Salaries to be granted by amended Ordinance for. Government Officials Salaries for those who were officials on July 1 1946 (except official appointed by Emperor with the ceremony of installation), Minister of Finance shall provide the necessary matters at the time of the enforcement of this Ordinance.
The Official who was out of Japan (except for Karafuto; the same shall apply hereinafter,) on July 1, 1946 shall be granted till he comes back to Japan the sum total of salary of that time, amount equal to high-price allowance and temporary allowance provided for by Minister of Finance, notwithstanding the amended Ordinance for Government Officials Salaries.
In case when Official prescribed in the preceding paragraph returns to Japan, as to the new grade of salaries to be granted by amended Ordinance for Government Officials Salaries, Minister of Finance shall provide the necessary matters.
Minister of Finance shall be able to make special Measures regarding the salary from July to September, 1946.
Following Ordidances shall be abrogated:
Ordinance for Rank and Salary of Higher Officials of Imperial University.
Ordinance regarding long-service allowance for officials of Prefectural Institute for Juveniles.
Ordinance for long-service allowance.
Ordinance for high-price allowance.
Ordinance for temporary allowance.

Imperial Ordinance No. 132 of 1900. (Ordinance regarding salary in case officer lower than noncommissioned officer or warrant officer who has received pension is appointed government offical.)
Imperial Ordinance No. 273 of 1900. (Ordinance regarding allowance and method of deduction when officer lower than non-commissioned officer received pension is appointed government official higher than Hannin Rank.)
Imperial Ordinance No. 122 of 1904. (Ordinance regarding the door-keeper of the House of Peers and House of Representatives who were called up at wartime.)
Imperial Ordinance No. 206 of 1904. (Ordinance regarding Pay for official who were called up in military service.)
Imperial Ordinance No. 263 of 1920. (Ordinance regarding special allowance for governors.)
Imperial Ordinance No. 143 of 1931. (Ordinance regarding deduction of salary for official or treated official who receive more than two salaries.)
Imperial Ordinance No. 465 of 1937. (Ordinance regarding the amount of salary as the basis for deduction of half-Pay for official and treated official as well as for serviceman higher than non-commissioned officer.)
