I hereby give My Sanction to the Imperial Ordinance concerning the partial amendment of the Imperial Ordinance pertaining to the Post Office Life Insurance, and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 429
Part of the Imperial Ordinance pertaining to Post Office Life Insurance shall be amended as follows:
In Article 1, "Endowment and Infantile Policies," shall read "and Endowment Policies."
In Article 3, "and Infantile Policies," and Article 4-2 shall be deleted.
Pargraph 1 of Article 5 shall be amended as follows:
The age of a person eligible must be 60 years or less.
Paragraph 3 of said Article shall be deleted.
Paragraph 1 of Article 6 shall be amended as follows:
If, in the case of an error having been found in the age of an insured person, after the policy has been issued the correct age of such person on the day of issue of the policy is within the age-limit mentioned in Paragraph 1 of Article 5, such policy shall be deemed as has been issued at such correct age from the first and the amount of insurance thereof be revised accordingly.
In Paragraph 2 of Article 7, "1,000 yen" shall read "5,000 yen".
Item 1 Paragraph 1 of Article 7, shall be amended as follows:
1. The Mortality Table compiled from the data during the period as from April of the 5th year of Showa (1930) to March of the 10th year of Showa (1935), but, in the cass of the age of an insured person worked out in accordance with the provisions of Paragraph 2, Article 5, being less than 6 years, the Mortality Table compiled by adding 10 per cent to the male mortality rates of Life Table No. 5 published by the Government Bureau of Statistics is the 11th year of Showa (1936).
Article 7-2. The amount of insurance to be paid in accordance with the provisions of Article 4-2 of the Post Office Life Insurance Law shall, subject to the age at the time of death of an insured person, be as follows:
For a person of less than 3 years of age 30 per cent of the sum insured.
For a person of less than 6 years of age, 60 per cent of the sum insured.
In Paragraph 1 of Article 8, "one year and a half" shall read "2 years", "(in the case of an Infantile Policy, the sum insured at the time of the insured person attaining the age of 10 years)" be deleted, and in Paragraph 2 of said Artilce, "before attaining the age of 10 years" shall read "under the age of 6 years".
In Paragraph 1 of Article 9, "(in the case of an Infantile Policy, the sum insured at the time of the insured person attaining the age of 10 years)" shall be deleted.
In Paragraph 1 of Article 10, "one year and a half" shall read "2 years", and "(in the case of an Infantile Policy, the sum insured at the time of the insured person attaining the age of 10 years)" be deleted.
Supplementary Provision:
This Imperial Ordinance shall come into force as from October 1 of 1946.
Policies effected before the enforcement of the present Imperial Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
