I hereby give My Sanction to the Imperial Ordinance concerning the partial amendment to the Regulations governing the Official Organization of the Medical Practitioners Examination Committee, etc., and cause the same to be promulgated.

Imperial Ordinance No. 407
Article 1. A part of the Regulations governing the Official Organization of the Medical Practitioners Examination Committee shall be amended as follows.
The title shall be amended as follows:
Regulations governing the Official Organization of the Medical Practitioners State Examination Preliminary Examination Committee.
In Article 1. The "Medical Practitioners Examination Committee" shall read "Preliminary Examination Committee of the Medical Practitioners State Examination (hereinafter to be called the Preliminary Examination Committee)," "Medical Practitioners Examination" shall read "Preliminary Examination of the Medical Practitioners State Examination (hereinafter to be called the Preliminary Examination)," and "selection of the medical practitioner's license" shall read "Selection provided in Article 1 of the Imperial Ordinance No. 42 of the 21st year of Showa (here-inafter to be called the selection)."
In Article 2. The "Medical Practitioners Examination Committee" shall read the "Preliminary Examination Committee."
Article 3. The Chairman and the committeemen shall be appointed by the Cabinet through the recommendation of the Minister of Welfare.
If those, who are not government officials, have been appointed to be committeemen, they shall be treated as second class government officials.
In Article 5 and Article 6, the "Examination and selection" shall read" Preliminary Examination and selection."
Article 7. There shall be created a Secretary of the Preliminary Examination of the Medical Practitioners State Examination, and he shall be appointed by the Minister of Welfare from among the second class officials of the Ministry of Welfare.
The Secretary shall make adjustment of the general affairs concerning the Preliminary Examination and selection under the direction of the Chairman.
In Article 8, the "Clerk of the Medical Practitioners Examination" shall read the "Clerk of the Preliminary Examination of the Medical Practitioners State Examination."
Article 11. A part of the Regulations governing the Official Organization of the Dentists Examination Committee shall be amended as follows.
The title shall be amended as follows:
Regulations governing the Official Organization of the Dentists State Examination Preliminary Examination Committee.
In Article 1, the "Dentists Examination Committee" shall read "Preliminary Examination Committee of the Dentists State Examination (hereinafter to be called the Preliminary Examination Committee)." the "Dentists Examination" shall read the "Preliminary Examination of the Dentists State Examination (hereinafter to be called the Preliminary Examination)" and "and selection of Dentists to be licensed" shall read "the selection provided in Article 1 of the Imperial Ordinance No. 42 of the 21st year of Showa (hereinafter to be called the selection)."
In Article 2, the "Dentists Examination Committee" shall read the "Preliminary Examination Committee."
Article 3. The Chairman and the committeemen shall be appointed by the Cabinet through the recommendation of the Minister of Welfare.

Article 8. There shall be created a clerk of the Preliminary Examination of the Dentists State Examination, who shall be concurrently appointed the Clerk of the Preliminary Examination of the Medical Practitioners State Examination.
The Clerk shall be engaged in the general affairs under the direction of his superiors.
Supplementary Provisions:
The present Ordinance shall come into force as from September 1, 1946.
Those persons who are the committeemen of the Medical Practitioners Examination or the committeemen of the Dentists Examination, at the time of the enforcement of the present Imperial Ordinance shall be deemed to have been appointed to be the committeemen of the Preliminary Examination, either of the Medical Practitioners State Examination or of the Dentists State Examination, unless they have been otherwise commissioned.
