Law for Partial Amendments to the Seamen's Insurance Law
The Seamen's Insurance Law (Law No.73 of 1939) shall be partially amended as follows:
Article 4 paragraph 1 shall be amended as follows:
The amount of standard remuneration of an insured person shall be determined on the basis of the monthly amount of the insured person's remuneration in accordance with the classes prescribed in the following table:

The principal part of Article 33-(3) paragraph 2 item (3) shall be amended as follows:
3.　When employed on board a fishing vessel, other than the following types of fishing vessels;provided, however, that cases in which employment as a seaman by a shipowner is to be for one year shall be excluded:
In Article 33-(9) paragraph 2, "300 yen" shall be amended as "370 yen" .
(The purport of the amendments to Article 46 paragraph 1, Article 47-(2) and Article 49-(2) is, in the Japanese text, to change only the word order. Therefore, there is no change in its English text.)
Supplementary Provisions:
1　This Law shall come into force as from April 1, 1952.
2　A person who has been qualified as insured prior to the date of the enforcement of this Law and continues to be qualified as insured until such date, shall be regarded, for purposes of amendment to Article 4, as having been qualified as insured on such date and his standard remuneration shall be determined accordingly.
3　Among those persons who are actually insured at the time of the enforcement of this Law or who have been insured prior to the enforcement of this Law, any person whose employed term as a seaman under a shipowner on and after April 1, 1951 has been counted in an insured term under Article 33-(3) paragraph 1 in accordance with the provision of Article 33-(3) paragraph 2 item (3), effective prior to the amendment by this Law, but is not to be counted in an insured term under the provision of paragraph 2 item (3) of the same Article after the amendment by this Law, shall not be covered in compliance with an application of the person by the amended provision of the same item of the same paragraph of the same Article, until March 31, 1953, but the former provisions shall apply to the payment of unemployment insurance benefits in the case where such person comes under the provision of Article 33-(2) by the above date.
