Law for Partial Amendment to the Lost Goods Law
The Lost Goods Law (Law No.87 of 1899) shall be partially amended as follows:
"Police office" shall be amended as "Chief of police station" .
Article 2 paragraph 4 shall be deleted.
In Article 11 paragraph 3, "police official" shall be amended as "Chief of police station" .
Article 15 shall be amended as follows:
Article 15. When there is no person to take delivery of the goods, which are kept by the chief of police station in accordance with the provisions of this Law, the ownership of the said goods shall revert to the state or the local community to which the said police station belongs.
Supplementary Provisions:
1 This Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
2 Of the good to which the provision of Article 15 of the Lost Goods Law, before being amended, has applied and which have reverted to the State (including the remainder of the price of goods sold in accordance with the provision of Article 2 of the Lost Goods Law after deducting the expenses of sale;hereinafter the same), those which are kept by the chief of police station of the Police of Autonomous Entities, when the present Law comes into force, shall be transferred, without compensation, by the state to the local community to which the said police station belongs. In this case, the expenses paid by the local community for custody of the said goods, public notice and other necessary matters, shall be borne by the local community concerned.
