第一條　大蔵大臣は、船舶公団の清算事務の結了を促進するため必要があるときは、船舶公団の他の船舶所有者との船舶の共有契約に基く持分（以下「共有持分」という。）其の他の権利義務を国に引き継ぐことができる。
Article 1.　The Minister of Finance may, if necessary for expediting the completion of the liquidation of the Sempaku Kodan, transfer to the State its shares based on the contract of joint ownership of vessels between it and other shipowners (hereinafter referred to as "joint ownership shares" ) and other rights and obligations.
２　国は、前項の規定により船舶公団の共有契約に基く権利義務を引き継いだときは、その引継の日において船舶公団の復興金融金庫に対する債務を引き受けるものとする。
2　The States shall, when it has received in accordance with the provision of the preceding paragraph the transfer of the rights and obligations of the Sempaku Kodan based on the contract of joint ownership, take over on the day of the transfer the liabilities of the Sempaku Kodan to the Reconversion Finance Bank.
３　前項の規定により国が船舶公団の復興金融金庫に対する債務を引き受けたときは、復興金融金庫は、当該債務の金額に相当する金額の資本の減少を行うものとし、これにより国は、復興金融金庫に対する当該債務の弁済をしたものとみなす。
3　When the State has taken over in accordance with the provision of the preceding paragraph the liabilities of the Sempaku Kodan to the Reconversion Finance Bank, the Reconversion Finance Bank shall decrease its capital by the amount equivalent to the amount of such liabilities, and the State shall thereby consider as having repaid such liabilities to the Reconversion Finance Bank.
４　第一項の規定により国が船舶公団の共有契約に基く権利義務を引き継いだ場合において、その引き継いだ共有持分の価額が第二項の規定により引き受けた船舶公団の復興金融金庫に対する債務の金額をこえるときは、船舶公団は、そのこえる金額に相当する金額の基本金の減少を行うものとする。
4　If, in those cases where the State has taken over in accordance with the provision of paragraph 1, the rights and obligations of the Sempaku Kodan based on the contract of joint ownership, the value of the joint ownership shares so taken over exceeds the amount of such liabilities of the Sempaku Kodan to the Reconversion Finance Bank as have been taken over in accordance with the provision of paragraph 2, the Sempaku Kodan shall decrease its capital by the amount equivalent to the amount in excess.
５　前項の基本金の減少のための定款の変更は、大蔵大臣の認可を受けて行うものとし、当該定款の変更をしたときは、政令の定めるところにより、登記しなければならない。
5　The amendment to the Articles of Incorporation of the Sempaku Kodan for the decrease of its capital mentioned in the preceding paragraph shall be made with the approval of the Minister of Finance, and if such amendment has been made to the Articles of Incorporation, it shall be registered as provided for by Cabinet Order.
（船舶公団法の廃止）
(Abolition of the Sempaku Kodan Law)
第二條　船舶公団法（昭和二十二年法律第五十二号）は、廃止する。但し、この法律施行前にした行為に対する罰則の適用及び船舶公団の清算に関しては、同法は、この法律施行後もなおその効力を有する。
Article 2.　The Sempaku Kodan Law (Law No.52 of 1947) shall be abolished. However, the same Law shall remain in force even after the enforcement of this Law so far as the application of penal provisions to the acts done before the enforcement of this Law and the Liquidation of the Sempaku Kodan are concerned.
附　則
Supplementary Provision:
この法律は、公布の日から施行する。
This Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
