Law for Partial Amendments to the Law for Japanese Government Railways Fares and Charges
The Law for Japanese Government Railways Fares and Charges (Law No.112 of 1948) shall be partially amended as follows:
Article 3 items (1) and (2) shall be amended as follows:
(1) Third class fares, per operated kilometer, shall be 145 sen up to 150 kilometers,105 sen for distance longer than 150 kilometers up to 500 kilometers, 60 sen for distance longer than 500 kilometers up to 1,000 kilometers and 40 sen for distance exceeding 1,000 kilometers.
(2) Second class fares shall be two times of third class fares and first class fares four times of third class fares, however, second class fares shall be two hundred times of one hundred and twentieths of third class fares, and first class fares four hundred times of one hundred and twentieths of third class fares as long as the transit tax is imposed.
The following proviso shall be added to Article4:
However, first class fares and second class fares shall be one hundred times of one hundred twentieths of the respective first class fares and second class fares mentioned in the same Table, as long as the transit tax is imposed.
The following proviso shall be added to Article 6:
However, first class charges and second class charges shall be one hundred times of one hundred twentieths of the respective first, class charges and second class charges mentioned in the same Table, as long as the transit tax is imposed.
In Article 9, "chinritsu" (passenger fares, freight rates and charges) shall be amended as "unchin oyobi ryokin" (passenger fares, freight rates and charges).
Annexed Tables 1 and 2 shall be amended as follows:

Supplementary Provision:
This Law shall come into force as from April 1, 1950.
