Article 52-(2). The Ministry of Welfare shall have narcotic control officials not exceeding 250 in number, who shall be stationed in To, Do, Fu or prefecture.
2 The places where narcotic control officials are stationed and the number of them in each To, Do, Fu or prefecture shall be determined by the Minister of Welfare.
3 Narcotic control officials shall, under the direction and supervision of the Minister of Welfare, take charge of entrance inspection and removal based on this Law and the Taima Control Law (Law No.124 of 1948) and other matters concerning the enforcement of these Laws, and perform their duties as judicial police officers under the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Law No.131 of 1948) with respect to the offences concerning narcotics or Taima and also the offences prescribed in Chapter XIV of the Penal Code (Law No.45 of 1907).
4 Narcotic control officials may perform their duties outside the respective To, Do, Fu and prefectures where they are stationed.
5 Narcotic control officials may carry with them small arms in the performance of their duties.
