As from the date of enforcement of this Law, it shall be obligatory upon a person to discard the old usage of counting his (or her) age by "Kazoe-doshi," and to compute it by the years (or the months as to the length less than one year) in accordance with the Law concerning the Computation of Age (Law No.50, 1902).
As from the date of enforcement of this Law, both the national and local authorities are enjoined to compute a person's age in accordance with the provision of the preceding paragraph. However, in case it is necessary for some unavoidable resaon to do so by "Kazoe-doshi," they shall explicitly state this fact.

Supplementary Provisions:
この法律は、昭和二十五年一月一日から施行する。
This Law shall come into force as from January 1, 1950.
