MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

SUBJECT

Revised Word Rate, Japan to Los Angeles, via Press Wireless Circuit.

1. Reference is made to Memorandum for the Imperial Japanese Government, file AG 311.3 (24 Sep 46) CCS, (SCAPIN-1228), dated 24 September 1946, subject: Revised Plan for Receiving Payments Due American Carriers for Messages and Radiotelephone Calls Filed by United States Military and Accredited Civilian Personnel for Transmission to or Through the United States, its Territories and Possessions, Prepared in Japan.
2. Paragraph 2d, Inclosure 2 to memorandum referred to in above paragraph, Radio Telephone and Telegraph Rates to United States and Hawaiian Islands, is hereby amended to delete the word rate of $0.06 - 2/3 for VLT messages to Los Angeles via Press Wireless circuit.
3. Effective 1 April 1947, word rates for VLT classification will be as follows:
To San Francisco and Oahu $0.06 - 2/3
To Other Locations in U.S.A. $0.08 - 2/3
To Other Islands in Hawaii $0.11 - 2/3
(From points over 50 miles from Tokyo add 2/3¢ ($0.00 - 2/3)
4. This confirms verbal instructions from General Headquarters, Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, to the Ministry of Communications of the Imperial Japanese Government, made by telephone on 25 March 1947.
