SUBJECT | French Language, Authorization for Use in International Civil Telecommunications. |
1. This memorandum supplements (SCAPIN 326), AG 311.7 (10 Nov 45) CIS, 21 November 1945) subject: "Regulations Governing Communications over International, Foreign and External Telegraph, Telephone and Wireless Facilities."
2. Effective upon the issuance of this memorandum, the French language is authorised for use in International Civil Telecommunications entering, leaving and transiting Japan.
3. Accordingly, paragraph 2a (1) of SCAPIN 326, AG 311.7 (10 Nov 45) CIS, 21 November 1945, is amended to read as follows:
"(1) The following languages are authorized for use in International Civil Telecommunications: English, Russian, French and Japanese. Other languages may be use£ only upon approval of the Civil Censorship Officer, General Headquarters, Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers."
