Law concerning Salaries and other Pays of Government Workers from June, 1948
第一條　官吏、官吏の待遇を受ける者（官吏と同格の政府職員を含む。）雇員、庸人及び工員であつて常時勤務に服する者（他の法律に特別の定のある者を除く。以下職員という。）に対しては、昭和二十三年六月一日にさかのぼつて、職員総平均の月收三千七百九十一円の俸給等を支給する。
Article 1.　Government service officials and those treated as such (inclusive of those standing as such), junior clerks, auxiliary workers and craft workers, who are regularly employed by the Government in the regular service (exclusive of those specified by other laws Hereinafter referred to as workers) shall receive salaries and other pays of 3,791 yen averaging all workers retroactively as from June 1, 1948.
第二條　前條の規定による俸給等に関しては、この法律に別段の定のある場合を除く外、政府職員の新給與実施に関する法律（昭和二十三年法律第四十六号。以下法第四十六号という。）の例による。
Article 2.　Salaries and other pays prescribed in the preceding Article shall be administered in accordance with the Law administering the New Pay (Law No.46 of 1948. Hereinafter referred to as Law No.46), except in cases specifically provided for in this Law.
第三條　法第四十六号第十四條第二項に規定する職務の各級における俸給の幅は、別表による。
Article 3.　The range of salaries according to grades prescribed in Article 14, Paragraph 2 of Law No.46 shall be as in the Annexed Table.
２　扶養手当の月額は、扶養親族一人につき、二百五十円とする。
The monthly amount of Family Allowance shall be 250 yen per one dependent family member.
附　則
Supplementary Provisions:
第四條　この法律は、公布の日から、これを施行する。
Article 4.　This Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
第五條　この法律の施行に際し、法第四十六号第二十六條の規定によりその職員の属する職務の級における俸級の幅の最高をこえる額の俸給を受けていた職員は、その受けていた俸給の十一割五分に相当する金額の俸給を受けるものとする。但し、その俸給の額は、新給與実施本部長の定めるところにより、別表の級別俸給額表中の直近の俸給金額と同額とする。
Article 5.　In case a worker upon enforcement of this Law is receiving a base pay which is higher than the amount provided for the top of the pay range to which his position is allocated, as provided in Law No.46 (1948), Article 26, such worker shall receive a new base pay amounting to 115% of his present base pay. However, this 115% amount shall be converted to correspond with the nearest base pay figure provided in the Annexed. Table, as determined by the chief of the office of New Pay Administration.
２　前項の規定による俸給額がその職員の属する職務の級における別表の俸給の幅の最高の額に達しない場合においては、その職員は、その最高の額の俸給を受けるものとする。
In case the new base pay determined in the manner prescribed in the preceding paragraph is less than the top of the pay range provided in the Annexed Table for the grade to which the worker's position is allocated, the worker shall receive the top of the pay range provided in the Annexed Table.
第六條　職員が昭和二十三年六月一日以後の分として既に支給を受けた法第四十六号による給與は、この法律による給與の内拂とみなす。
Article 6.　Payments under Law No.46 for the period latet than June 1, 1948, which workers have already received, shall be regarded as a part payment under this Law.
