SUBJECT

Supplemental "B" Type Currency Brought in by Japanese Repatriates

1. Reference is made to C.L.O. Memorandum No. 919 (5.1), 6 December 1945.
2. You are authorized to permit Japanese repatriates returning from areas other than Korea, Formosa and Manchuria to bring in supplemental yen currency, marked "B", in addition to notes of the Bank of Japan.
3. The combined total of supplemental "B" type currency and regular yen currency brought in will not exceed the limitations prescribed in paragraph 2-a, Memorandum for the Imperial Japanese Government, file AG 091.31 (12 Oct 1945), subject: ’’Supplemental Instructions Relating to Import and Export Controls.”
4. An acknowledgement of the receipt of this memorandum is directed.
