MEMORANDUM FOR | IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT. |

THROUGH | Central Liaison Office, Tokyo. |
SUBJECT | Treatment of Diplomatic Officials Quartered at Fujiya Hotel. |
1. Receipt is acknowledged of C. L. O. letter No. 336, 22 October 1945.
2. As outlined in memorandum from this headquarters, file AG 091.112 (21 Oct 45) GD, certain designated members of Allied and Neutral diplomatic staffs are quartered in the Fujiya Hotel, Miyanoshiya. The Commanding General, Eighth U. S. Army, is providing quarters for this group and subsistence on the standard U. S. Army ration on a sales basis.
3. It is the responsibility of the Imperial Japanese Government to provide diplomatic personnel residing at the Fujiya Hotel with such services and supplies, exclusive of the quarters and standard subsistence outlined in paragraph 2, as are required by international custom. However, it is not considered necessary for the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to retain storage, office or quarters space in the Fujiya Hotel in order to discharge these responsibilities. The Gohra Hotel should be adequate for these purposes.

Asst Adjutant General.
