MEMORANDUM FOR	JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.
SUBJECT	Payment of Expenses of Non-Military Witnesses Called by Occupation Forces During Period 1 April 1948 to 1 February 1949.

1. Reference is made to:
a. Memorandum for the Japanese Government, AG 400.12 (31 Mar 48) CE-GD, SCAPIN 1872, subject, "Expenditures from Funds Appropriated for Occupation Force Requirements," dated 31 March 1948.
b. Central Liaison and Coordination Office Letter, CLCO No. 3197 (3 WC), subject, "Travelling Expenses for Designated Individuals," dated 10 September 1948.
c. Memorandum for the Japanese Government, AG 248 (31 Mar 48)GD, SCAPIN 1872/6, subject, "Payment of Expends of Non-Military Witnesses Called by Occupation Forces," dated 28 December 1948.
d. Central Liaison and Coordination Office Letter, CLCO No. 468 (SS), subject, "Travelling Expenses for Witnesses Called by the Occupation Forces," dated 19 February 1949.
2. The provisions of reference 1c are extended to include non-military witnesses who were required to appear before occupation courts, courts-martial, investigations and interrogations during the period 1 April 1948 to 1 February 1949.
