MEMORANDUM FOR

JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

SUBJECT

Control of Radio Communications.

1. Reference is made to Memorandum for the Japanese Government, file AG 676.3 (14 Jul 47)CCS, SCAPIN 1744, dated 14 July 1947, subject: Control of Radio Communications, as amended.
2. Inclosure 1 of this memorandum is the call sign supplement to the document "List of Japanese Ship and Coastal Radio Stations" dated 1 July 1948 and subsequent amendments thereto, as revised to conform with Article 19 of the Radio Regulations annexed to the International Telecommunications Convention (Atlantic City 1947). This supplement, which will become effective 1 January 1949, includes the former call sign, new call sign, SCAP registry number, and name of ship for each call sign.
3. This memorandum reaffirms the authorization of call sign amendments granted by direct communication between Civil Communications Section, General Headquarters, Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, and the Ministry of Communications.
