2. Reference Memoranda 1a (1), (2), (3) and (4), above, forward applications for removal of Yasukawa Air Electric Apparatus Manufacturing Company, Ltd., Japan Silk Yarn Manufacturing Company Ltd., Yasaka Metal Industry Company, Ltd. and Nakajima Electric Motor Company, Ltd., from the Schedule of Restricted Concerns established by reference Memorandum 1b (1), above, to which Yasukawa Air Electric Apparatus Manufacturing Company, Ltd., Japan Silk Yarn Manufacturing Company, Ltd, and Nakajima Electric Motor Company, Ltd., were added by reference Memorandum 1b (2), above, and to which Yasaka Metal Industry Company, Ltd., was added by reference Memorandum 1b (3), above.
3. The Concerns named in paragraph 2, above, are hereby removed from the Schedule of Restricted Concerns and the additions thereto, referred to in subparagraphs 1b (1), (2) and (3), above, respectively.

1. CLO Memoranda No. 3461 (LO 828/361), 16 July 1946; No. 3651 (LO 910/419), 25 July 1946; No. 3656 (LO 916/399), 26 July 1946; and No. 3731 (LO 959/431), 30 July 1946; forward respective applications of: Yasukawa Air Electric Apparatus Manufacturing Company, Ltd., a subsidiary of Shikishima Spinning Company, Ltd.; Japan Silk Yarn Manufacturing Company, Ltd., a subsidiary of Katakura Industrial Company, Ltd.; Yasaka Metal Industry Company, Ltd., a subsidiary of Kanegafuchi Industrial Company, Ltd.; and Nakajima Electric Motor Company, Ltd., a subsidiary of Oriental Cotton Spinning Company, Ltd., and which were added on 8 June 1946 and 15 June 1946 to the Schedule of Restricted Concerns established by SCAP Memorandum AG 004 (8 Dec 45) ESS/AC (SCAPIN-403), subject: "Establishment of a Schedule of Restricted Concerns," for release from the Schedule of Restricted Concerns.
2. a. Shikishima Spinning Company, Ltd., reported Yasukawa Air Electric Apparatus Company, Ltd., as its subsidiary and listed its shareholdings as twenty-three (23) percent of the total shares outstanding. According to proof submitted by the applicant, the Yasukawa Air-Electric Apparatus Manufacturing Company, Ltd., is non-existent, since it was amalgamated in March 1946 with Yasukawa Electric Machine Company, Ltd, Registration was made in conformity with Commercial Code of Japan as per attached abstract. Shareholdings of Shikishima Spinning Company, Ltd., after the amalgamation totalled 4.5 percent of the shares outstanding.
b. Katakura Industrial Company, Ltd., reported Japan Silk Yarn Manufacturing Company, Ltd., as its subsidiary and listed its shareholdings as twelve (12) percent of the total shares outstanding. Actually, the latter is a quasi-governmental concern which was ordered dissolved by SCAP Memorandum AG 091. 3 (11 Oct 45) ESS (SCAPIN-120), subject: "Production of Silk."
c. Kanegafuchi Industrial Company, Ltd., reported Yasaka Metal Industry Company, Ltd., as its subsidiary and listed its shareholdings as fifty (50) percent of the total shares outstanding. According to proof submitted by the applicant, the Yasaka Metal Industry Company, Ltd., had undergone a reorganization whereby the interests of the parent Company were redeemed in full on 20 February 1946. Confirmation of this transaction is shown by the attached abstract.
d. Oriental Cotton Spinning Company, Ltd., reported Nakajima Electric Motor Company, Ltd., as its subsidiary and listed its shareholdings as thirty-one (31) percent of the total shares outstanding. According to proof submitted by the applicant, all the shares in question were sold by Oriental Cotton Spinning Company, Ltd., to Mr. Hiro Nakajima on 21 January 1946 as indicated in the attached contract.
3. On the basis of the information disclosed in paragraph 2, above, Yasukawa Air Electric Apparatus Company, Ltd., Japan Silk Yarn Manufacturing Company, Ltd., Yasaka Metal Industry Company, Ltd., and Nakajima Electric Motor Company, Ltd., are not considered to be subsidiaries as defined by Inclosure 1 to SCAP Memorandum AG 319.1 (22 Oct 45) ESS/IE (SCAPIN-177), subject: "Reports to be made by Certain Business Firms." Hence, the attached Memorandum removes subject subsidiary concerns from the Schedule of Restricted Concerns.
4. This is an administrative matter, and no surveillance by the Eighth Army is required.
5. The interests of USAFIK are not concerned.
