SUBJECT

Repatriation of Chinese and Formosans.

1. Reference is made to memorandum from the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, file AG 014.33 (l5 Oct 46)GC, (SCAPIN-1271), dated 15 October 1946, subject: Repatriation of Chinese and Formosans.
2. The ship selected to outload Chinese and Formosans bound for Central China., South China, and Formosa as mentioned in paragraph 5 c of above reference is the Landing Ship Tank, expected to depart Sasebo on 24 October 1946.

1. Reference is made to:
a. Letter from the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, file and subject as above, dated 15 October 1946, which inclosed Memorandum for the Imperial Japanese Government, file AG 014.33 (15 Oct 46)GC, (SCAPIN-1271), dated 15 October 1946, subject as above.
b. Memorandum for the Imperial Japanese Government, file AG 014.33 ( 17 Oct 46)GC, (SCAPIN-1275 ), dated 17 October 1946, subject: Repatriation of Chinese and Formosans, attached as Inclosure hereto.
2. Request routine supervision be exercised over the compliance by the Imperial Japanese Government with the provisions of memorandum, reference paragraph 1 b above.
3. The Commanding Generals I Corps and 24th Infantry Division have been furnished copies of this letter and inclosure hereto.
