MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

THROUGH

Central Liaison Office, Tokyo.

Subject

Repatriation to Manchuria.

1. Reference is made to:
a. Memorandum from the Supreme Commander for the Allied powers, file AG 370.05 (7 May 46) GC, (SCAPIN-927), dated 7 May 1946, subject: ‘‘Repatriation,” as amended.
b. Memorandum from the Central Liaison Office, Number 4971 (RF), dated 27 September 1946, subject: “Repatriation of Natives of Saipan and Other Pacific Ocean Area Islands and Manchuria.”
2. Authority is granted to repatriate those persons named on List A. subject: "Those who are desirous and eligible of repatriation to Manchuria,” enclosure to reference 1b above, in accordance with provision of reference 1a above prior to 1 November 1946.
3. The Imperial Japanese Government will.
a. Notify individuals concerned of this authorization to be repatriated.
b. Take the necessary measures to insure their health, welfare and transportation to Hakata or Sasebo and to insure their embarkation on regularly scheduled repatriation shipping bound for Hulutao.
c. Render report to Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers promptly upon completion of repatriation of these individuals.

SUBJECT: Repatriation to Manchuria.
TO : Commanding General, Eighth Army, APO 343
1. Reference is made to Memorandum for Imperial Japanese Government, file AG 014.33 (7 Oct 46)GC, (SCAPIN-1255), dated 7 October 1946, subject: "Repatriation to Manchuria," attached as Inclosure 1 hereto.
2. The list of individuals authorized to return to Manchuria is attached hereto as Inclosure 2.
3. Request routine supervision of compliance with provisions of memorandum, paragraph 1 above.
4. The Commanding General I Corps and 24th Infantry Division have been furnished copies of this letter and inclosures hereto.
