MEMO FOR RECORD: (SCAPIN - 1147)

1. Reference is memorandum for the Imperial Japanese Government from General Headquarters, Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, file AG 560 (13 May 46) ESS/IN (SCAPIN-949) dated 13 May 1946, subject: "Authorization for Construction of Steel Fishing Vessels, " which lists 416 steel fishing vessels authorized for construction under Plan No.1.
2. Since the above memorandum was issued two discrepancies have been reported in the listing of the steel fishing vessels. The location of the construction of eight, 270 gross ton trawlers was listed at Mitsubishi Hiroshima Shipyard instead of Mitsubishi Kobe shipyard. Two small 75 ton trawlers were left off the original list and the addition of these two vessels does not change the total of 416 steel fishing vessels authorized for construction.
3. It is to correct this listing that this memorandum to the Imperial Japanese Government and command letter to the Eighth Army is forwarded.
4. No concurrence required.
5. This is an administrative matter and routine surveillance of the authorized steel fishing vessel construction will be reported in normal weekly "Occupation Activities Reports. "
