Addition of Titan Industrial Company, Ltd. (Titan Kogyo K. K.) to the Schedule of Restricted Concerns.

2. Reference is made to the following Memoranda for the Imperial Japanese Government from General Headquarters, Supreme Commander for the Allided Powers:

2. The Titan Industrial Company, Ltd., is hereby added to the Schedule of Restricted Concerns referred to in subparagraph 1c, above.
3. The Imperial Japanese Government will take immediate action to assure that this concern shall comply with the provisions of and make reports required by reference Memoranda listed in paragraph 1, above, Wherever reference is made in inclosure 1 and inclosure 2 to Memorandum referred to in subparagraph 1a, above, to the year 1944, it shall be amended to read 1945.

1. In carrying out the policy set forth in JCS Directive 1380/15 dated 3 November 1945, investigations are being made of conce▲ which are not listed on SCAP Memorandum AG 004 (8 Dec 45) ESS/AC (SCAPIN - 403), subject: "Establishment of Schedule of Restricted Concerns."
2. The Titan Industrial Company, Ltd., (Titan Kogyo K. K.) is a manufacturer of Titan dioxide, of which it produced sixty-nine (69) percent of the total production in Japan throughout the war. Its present capacity is unknown as it was heavily bombed, but all equipment is intact, and the Present employees consist of sixty (60) staff members and 150 laborers. In 1945, the Company produced 232 tons of titan dioxide, valued at ¥7,930 per ton, as well as 877 tons of iron sulphate and 330 tons of sulphuric acid. Fifty (50) percent of the stock is owned by Japanese interests, the other half is held by the following five (5) corporations:

Capital of the concern is ¥3,500,000, fully paid up. Of the four (4) directors, three (3) are German; of the two (2) auditors, one (1) is German. Because of the cartel features inherent in the ownership and management and because of the dominance of this concern in the production of titan dioxide, it is being added to the Schedule of Restricted Concerns referred to in paragraph 1, above.
3. The interests of USAFIK have been considered. This action does not affect the Korean area.
4. This is considered an administrative matter.
