MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

SUBJECT

Supply of Hospital Ships.

1. Reference is made to Memorandum for the Imperial Japanese Government, AG 370.05 (16 Mar 46)GC (SCAPIN-822), dated 16 March 1946, subject: "Repatriation," Annex 1, paragraph 4, and Annex IV, paragraph 1b.
2. A report has been received which indicates that the Japanese repatriation hospital ship Hikawa Maru was not sufficiently stocked with medical supplies for repatriates and crew during her last voyage.
3. The Imperial Japanese Government will take the necessary action to insure that sufficient medical supplies for repatriates and crew for trip from Japan until its return are placed aboard all Japanese repatriation hospital ships prior to departure from Japan.
