MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

THROUGH

Central Liaison Office, Tokyo.

SUBJECT

Repatriation of Non-Japanese from Japan

1. Refinance is made to memorandum this headquarters, file AG 370.5 (17 Nov 45) GC, dated 17 November 1945, subject as above.
2. The repatriation ships Yahiko Maru, scheduled to arrive at Fusan, Korea, from Truk, arrived at Otake, Japan, on 30 January 1946, with 3,232 Koreans aboard.
3. Confirming oral instructions previously issued, the Japanese Government will:
a. Offload the passengers from the ship, and transports the Koreans by rail to authorized ports used in the repatriation of Koreans, in accordance with the instructions contained in the memorandum referred to in paragraph 1 above. At the authorized port, they will be placed aboard ships destined for Korea.
b. Care for the 3,232 Koreans during the time they are in Japan.
