MEMORANDUM FOR	Imperial Japanese Government

SUBJECT	Release of Foreign Exchange Assets of Roberto Marchisio, Italian national.

1. Reference is made to C.L.O. Memorandum No. 165 (5.3), dated 12 January 1946, inclosing applications of Roberto Marchisio for release of foreign exchange assets and conversion of single name bank account to joint bank account.
2. The Imperial Japanese Government is directed to permit the withdrawal by Roberto Marchisio of the contents of Safety Deposit Box No. C151, Teikoku Ginko, Yokohama Branch, with exception of the following articles which will remain in such Safety Deposit Box under the name of Mrs. Anna Mariani:
a. One Insurance policy issued by Sun Life Insurance Co. of Canada, Singapore Branch, in amount of Straits Dollars 20,000 in favor Giuseppe Mariani and/or Mrs. Anna Mariani.
b. One Postal savings certificate of Italian Government in amount of Lire 20,000, in favor of Mrs. Anna Mariani.
3. The Imperial Japanese Government is also directed to transfer account No. 69, Yokohama Specie Bank, Yokohama, in amount of ¥ 25,363.69 from Roberto Marchisio to Giuseppe Mariani, making the latter sole owner of the account. Attention is directed to the fact that withdrawals can not be made from bank accounts owned in whole or in part by persons outside of Japan.
