MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

THROUGH

SUBJECT

Repatriation of Formosans in Japan.

1. Reference is made to memorandum this headquarters, file AG 370.05(17 Dec 45)GC, dated 17 December 1945, subject: "Formosan Repatriation."
2. It is expected that the Eiroku Maru and Yoneyama Maru will depart from Uraga for Formosa on or after 21 January. Detailed information will be furnished CMMC by SCAJAP. US guards will be provided for both ships.
3. In accordance with paragraph 3a, reference memorandum three thousand spaces for Formosan repatriation were allocated to Uraga. After the sailing of the Eiroku Maru and Yoneyama Maru, the three thousand spaces allocated to Uraga will be transferred to Kure.
4. The Imperial Japanese Government will make necessary arrangements to insure that capacity loads for each of the two vessels named above are available for embarkation at Uraga at the time the ships are loaded.
